…………………Mainly because not much has happened that I feel like writing about. Israel-haters continue to hate Israel. The war in Gaza continues, with no end in sight. In the north, Israel and Hezbollah/Iran/Syria inch closer by the day to all-out war. Domestically, President Biden has dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race, and VP Harris is now the de facto nominee. Today, she selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her VP Nominee, ahead of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly. I suspect that the choice of Walz was motivated in large part by the belief on Harris’ part that Shapiro, being a Jewish supporter of Israel, would cost her youth votes as well as votes in Michigan. Walz, on the other hand, is close with Conresswoman Ilhan Omar, who is a “Squad” member and very vocal critic of anything and everything Israeli. Read into that what you want.
I don’t know which way Jewish voters will go in the upcoming election, but count me among those who are still incredibly depressed about the choice we have in November. There isn’t much to get excited about when we have an authoritarian-wannabe on one side and nominee on the other side who will clearly be at best lukewarm towards Israel.

Miss you over at my blog! Hope you’re doing okay.
Agree entirely. I really thought she'd make the correct decision and pick Josh Shapiro but the controlling interests of the Democratic Party decided this was their continuing opportunity to pull the Party to the left, regardless of what effect it had on this election cycle. I will not pull the lever for the authoritarian wannabe as you politely called him but it is incredibly depressing that us Jewish Pro-Israel Independents no longer have a Political Party we can affiliate with.
